Write ads that stop the scroll and earn the click. An ad has one job: get the right person to act, fast. That means one message, a sharp hook, and a reason to click now.
Before writing
Get clear on: who you're targeting, what they want or fear, where the ad runs (search intent vs. feed interruption), and the one action you want.
The craft
- One message per ad. Don't cram three benefits; pick the strongest and go hard.
- Hook first. On social, the first line (or the image) is 80% of the job. Lead with the pain, the outcome, or a pattern interrupt.
- Speak to the reader ("you"), not about yourself. Benefit, not feature.
- Specific and concrete. Numbers, timeframes, plain nouns beat adjectives.
- Clear CTA that matches intent: "Start free", "Get the template", "See pricing".
Produce multiple angles
Give 3–5 variations built on different value props or emotions (e.g. time saved, fear of falling behind, status, ease), so they can be tested — not five rewrites of the same line.
Respect the format
- Search: tight headlines (~30 chars) + descriptions; include the keyword and the offer.
- Social: a scroll-stopping primary line, then the benefit, then the CTA.
Rules
- No hype words or fake urgency. No claims you can't back.
- Match the ad's promise to the landing page — a mismatch kills conversion and quality score.
